Locate A Close By North Las Vegas Dental Practice

If you live in one of the four main cities within the immense Las Vegas Valley - Las Vegas & North Las Vegas, as well as neighboring Henderson and Boulder City – there are most likely a number of dentist’s offices nearby your home or work.

*** Hidden Dental Practices ***

Some dental offices you may be aware of, but the majority you probably aren’t.

That’s because despite there being more than 1,200 dental offices in the Vegas Valley, their offices may be off the main streets or hidden in the sprawl.

*** The Phone Book ***

Of course, you can always use the phone book.

In fact, the Las Vegas Valley Embark Yellow Pages has 66 pages of listings for dentists!

So, good luck using the phone book to find a local dental office.

Plus, the internet is just so much more usable than the phone book for more and more people every day – interactive, relevant, fast.

In addition, only the dentists who can afford to cough up large sums of money (thousands a year) get the large, full or half-page four-color yellow page ads that get the best response rate.

The standard listings are all but a waste of money.

You should also remember that the ad has NO bearing on the quality of care provided.

Don’t be duped…

*** The Big Valley ***

Another thing to consider is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a huge area.

In fact, it’s approximately 600 square miles and has an incredible 65 zip codes.

Most people don’t jump on the first dentist they find, like they don’t become a member of the first church they come across.  Normally, some effort is required to find the “right fit”.

In other words, people will normally drive out of their way to get what they desperately need or want.

*** Driving And Stress ***

However, most people would prefer not to traverse the entire valley for a dental appointment (or church, for that matter), if they don’t have to.

And when you consider the average person’s aversion to the dentist, the last thing they want is to add a long and probably stressful drive to something they are already dreading – their appointment.

Alright, it’s clear that the average person doesn’t want to take on an extended journey to get to a dental appointment.

And so the question is posed again, how do you find a local dentist?

*** Use The Internet ***

With the exception of a personal referral from family or friend, your best research tool is the internet.

So, we’re talking four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and over 1,200 dentists.

Where should you start?

Go to your favorite search engine – we recommend Google because it offers certain features other search engines don’t.

*** Use The Right Search Terms ***

Enter something like: local dentist, or locate Las Vegas Pediatric Dentist.

If you are interested in finding a specialist, you can use terms like these: Boulder City Periodontist or Boulder City braces dentist.

The major search engines are so advanced these days that they can tell where you are searching from and present only relevant local listings.

Check it out by just typing something like: find a family dentist, local implant dentist or even just the root term itself, like: endodontist or crown and bridge dentist.

Also, with most search engines, you can just type in a term and your zip code to get focused regional results.

If one of the listings sounds promising, click on the link to the maps feature to see where the clinic is, within your area.

And while you are within the maps feature, you can choose to get and print out detailed driving directions.

So, input search terms like the following to really get specific: oral hygienist 89052 , aesthetic dentist 89151 or you might even try something like: teeth whitening 89084.

Type search terms like bullets, excluding filler words like “a”, “an” or “the”.

The majority of searchers input complete sentences.  But in reality, Google (and other search engines) operate best without the use of adverbs.

*** The Search Listings ***

There’s something you should know as you go internet searching for a local dentist, though.

The web is full of poor quality sites, including the majority of dental sites.

A great number of dental related sites are poorly constructed commercial directories that list only a select few dentists.

The reason for this is because only the dentists who have paid the directory owner for a listing will be found there.

Obviously, this excludes most of the clinics in the valley – including ones near you.

Things are getting better online, however, as the search engines refine their listings and a growing number of dentists have their own sites.

Unfortunately, the average dentist can only be found several pages deep in search engine listings for common terms like those given earlier.

*** It’s All About Marketing ***

So, despite their marketing efforts, they are all but invisible online.

Now, to be fair, a dental education doesn’t normally include instruction in internet marketing.

So, it’s no wonder finding a suitable local dentist can end up being more of a challenge than one might initially think.

In the end, it’s only those dental practices who effectively place and market themselves within the community who are the most successful.

An added benefit of effective advertising and marketing is the additional word-of-mouth referrals for new patients from the increased flow of newly signed-up patients.

*** Persistence Pays ***

With a little effort, you too can surely locate a nearby dentist who meets your qualifications and offers what you need and want.

Hopefully this article has provided some valuable insight into the challenges and methods involved in finding a dentist in your local area.
